When I was at the bottom Lord
you pulled me to the top.
When I didn't have the will to fight
you begged me not to stop.

And now that I am back on top
I wont go down again,
for with you I know how to fight
and I fight now Lord to win.

Lord, you know I'm new at this
but I think that you can see,
that with you as my coach
I'll bring home a victory.

I want to make you proud Lord
everytime I fight
and I will stay in training
until I get it right.

And when the time comes Lord
to fight that last big fight
I'll be so proud just knowing
that you Lord coached me right!

Melanie,
You've posted another fine-positive-victory breathing poem which honors Christ, and your dependence on Him.
I think the Word you actually meant to use was "COACH."
But still there is a possible double meaning here--as we Rest in Him--He can & will lead us on to Victory! Thanks for the boost!

Melanie, I can see at this point in time you are on the right track and taking comfort in the strength of our Lord. It makes my heart glad to see the positive reflection you have been portraying in your poetry. May God's eternal light always shine for you and give you peace.

what a wonderful way of looking at it Melanie - He's our coach and will teach us the techniques we need to be armed for every battle - and indeed you are on top, and by the sounds of it you're planning on staying there - way to go girl!  Praise God eh for lifting us up in His victorious right hand. Loved this poem Echo!  Bless you.

Looks like He's training you to win the Gold Metal at the Olympics...the flow and the metaphor you used was great...very original. Nice job.
