                    Heaven
               By:Lynn Burdette
Heaven is the place, where I am free,
relieved from the evil that surrounded me.
My time was up there with you.
God sent for me and others too.

I visit the gardens, beautiful they are.
Where roses are blooming from here to far.
The birds they sing such a lovely sound.
I knew right then, this is heaven I found.

The choir has so many, one by one,
They sing and shine bright as the sun.
The hymn they sing as our Saviour walks by,
Is sung with great joy, their head held high.

There's a river flowing all the way through,
Where I walk the banks, thinking of you.
The water is so pretty as it goes on down.
Rolling, rolling what a tranquil sound.

An emerald rainbow is round about the throne,
Where our father here in heaven sits not alone.
Before the throne is a crystal sea,
There I laid a rose on his feet.

God is surrounded by elders, dressed in white,
with gold crowns on their heads, shining in the light.
Twenty-Four I counted, as they fall down to him,
worshiping the Lord, as he looks upon them.

Heaven has streets, made of gold,
from one end to the other, as I was told.
I walk them with brothers and sisters, here with me.
Because heaven is the place, where I am free.< !signature-->

What a wonderful vision, and tour of Heaven you have taken us on, spoken not of something future and distance, but in the present tense of the steadfastness of faith.
Good job, my friend!

Wonderful portrayal there. I was glad to see how you translated what was said in Revelations with how you imagined it must be like. That is also how I see heaven. About the birds, I still don't know.

Lynn, I'm sorry I missed this! Fantastic and right from the book of Revelation. You sure make it a serene place with your wording. Earth is nothing compared to the beauty of Heaven, that's untouched by human! In its original formation! Thanks!
