This isn't exactly poetry, and I was'nt sure whether to post it here or in Feelings. It is entitled,        "Whatever".

Anybody remember that old children's Sunday school song, that goes like this?, Oh be careful little eyes what you see, Oh be careful little ears what you hear, and be Careful little lips what you say."?  There was more to it but that was the jest of it.  I remember singing it very often when I was a child, maybe you do too.  This song was brought to mind, when I was reading this passage of scripture, Phillipians, 4:4-8 as follows. "The Lord is near, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your heart and your minds in Christ Jesus.
    Finally, brothers, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is admirable, if anything is exellent or praiseworthy, think about such things."
    I am reminded of what it say in Proverbs 4:23-24, "Above all else, guard your heart for it is is the wellspring of life, put away perversity from your mouth, keep corrupt talk from your lips.
    So each day as we set the table of our hearts, which is the seat of our appetites, we literally need to be careful what our eyes see, ears hear, and lips say.  I want to be sure that the things that are sat on the table of my heart are noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. If the table of my heart is set with these things then, it will be easier for the things that come from my lips to be more excellent and praiseworthy. One good test to make sure that the things we have set before us are all of the above is perhaps, would I want Jesus to see this, hear this, or would he say it.  Let's make our whatever's for the glory of God. Have a great day!

dear Septsong;
Thank you for your lovely reply to my first poem on this site. I just read your contributation and it was terrific. I love the scripture you quoted. They echo my own spiritual journey and healing. The more I am surrendered to the Lord, the more my mind is filled with His loving thoughts.

I say Amen. and thanks for sharing the word and your timely thoughts & insights--I think you shared it in the right place. Otherwise I might never have read it and been challenged & blessed.  David
