.
Out of deference to the kind souls in this forum I am deleting this poem. It was not my intent to cause alarm or to belittle the beliefs of anyone.
Part of a poets responsibility is to his audience and I should have read more carefully the posts in this forum before I posted mine.

kevintaylor, the pain you write about in this poem is harsh!  It dosen't even sound like you were listening when God was trying to talk to you and help. I hope this was just a blurt on paper and not anything you truly meant. You see, God died for our sins.  He die so that you and I could walk with him one day. I hope your next post is a little more uplifting.  E-mail me if you would like to talk about this subject further!

Oh dear Jer.. this was not a personal or autobiographical note. It was a poem about my Irish father. He was a wee bit into the drink and rolled home late on more than one sorry occasion.
Being lectured by anyone, including his priest was more than he could tolerate... hence the poem.

I have another poem that goes with this one but I won't post it because I think it might be a tad too blasphemous to air outside of Belfast.

Ohh.... so sorry for the miss understanding. This is one of those poems you can get easily confused on if you don't have one of those Pre-Naritive Storys to them. Sorry.... my bad.

Kevin ya know what? I read this and completely misunderstood also.  Just as Jer did.  Maybe a little behind the story at the beginning would be good to inform folks.

Not much one can say to someone who is 'three sheets to the wind', as they say. But you never know! Sometimes they are listening, even if they don't know they are!I enjoyed the Irish flavor you gave this one.
Very creative topic, too!
