This is a poem I wrote sometime ago, I am not feeling like this at the present time, so no need to worry but thought someone who is having these feelings at present may appreciate it.
       Stone Heart

God, touch my heart.
My cold stone heart.
For like a rock
It cannot feel
A touch or gentle breeze.

It has no eyes
To view the wondrous works
That you hath made
And no mouth to praise you
For your goodness.

It has no ears to hear
A still small voice
Or a trumpet sound
But only a soul that
Hungers for life.

Lord breath in me your breath
Of life
Help my senses all to feel
The presence of your Holy Spirit
Raise me up up to live for Thee
And forever greatful I will be.

Interesting poem, SeptSong.  Many call to God when they feel empty.  Makes me recall a verse, "God's eyes are upon the righteous, and His ears open to their cry."  If your intent is true, be assured God hears your cry.  He is more than capable of raising "anyone" up to live for Him.

You know, I can relate to this, and in so many words have asked the same thing. It seems that when I do fall short, I fall way short. But when I do good, it's with gusto. Too bad, I wish I could be on an even keel.
I seem to be in that pit, just as far as studies go, where I need to really get back into it! Thank you for this, and I did need it!

Where there is faith,
there is love.
Where there is love,
there is peace.
Where there is peace,
there is GOD.
Where there is GOD,
there is no need.
