There's a man I know who doesn't understand,
Why his life is like moist, wet sand.

He doesn't know where all the trouble is
coming from in his life.
Why all he sees right now is misery and
strife.
Why all he has is cloudy days.
And nothing, I mean nothing seems to go
his way.

He thinks that everything he touches is
bound to fail.
Why he has no peace.
Why his life is a living Hell.

This man I know, just doesn't understand,
That God holds his life in the palms of
His hands.
That the cards of his life have already
been dealt.
And even though there is pain,
Joy is still yet to be felt.

That the things we go through are there to
make us strong.
Trust in the Lord, He will never steer you
wrong.
Believe in Him with all thy heart.
He'll remove the pain.
He'll never part.
From your side He will always be,
Your true deliverance will be the thing that sets
you free.

Amen my friend!!!  I loved this poem - you describe so many people here - and give them hope with your words.  I know a man like this too, actually you made me think of him, and i might just with your permission, print a copy of this out for him to read.  Because when someone is so down about life, the only thing that can make them look up is Jesus, who has a plan for our lives...  well it couldn't have been said any better Shirl - well done!

Amen! What you choose to 'see', believe and set our minds on makes all the difference in the world as to what we 'experience'! Wonderful poem, wonderful message!

The Lord will never steer us wrong.  Many of us go through things in life we can't understand.  We question pain, but God has a purpose for everything.  It is what we go through in life that makes us who we are, and God's blessing shines in the faithful.  He can and will remove all the pain.

Sorry for the sermon, beautiful poem.  just wann say AMEN! to this one.

AMEN! The things we go through will make us strong and bring us closer to him when we realize it was him that's been there for us all the time...Just Lovely "S".

For those of you who have seen "Steel Magnolias" you may remember this following quote.

"That which does not kill us makes us stronger"  I truly believe this.  The sorrow makes us ever more thankful for the ensuing joy.

We all know this someone, and in past years saw this one in my mirror, but sadly, they see God as one more worry or guilt trip instead of the answer to their dilema.  Nice work.  Thanks

This is hard fact of Christianity but it takes a Christian to appreciate this.  Thank God for poets like you who understand the ministry of teaching; a valuable lesson for us all.  "count it all joy when ye go through diverse temptations ... that ye might be entire, lacking nothing.
