Man Of Sorrows

Those tired, throbbing, sandaled feet
Trudged long miles in desert heat;
The Man of Sorrows tread for me
Those dusty roads of Galilee.

Those helping healing hands would find
The piercing pain of humankind;
That humble head bent oft in prayer
Would feel a thorny crown placed there.

Those shoulders broad would bear the weight
Of all the world’s sick sin and hate;
The Man of Sorrows prayed for me
There alone in Gethsemene.

Great drops as blood fell from the brow
Fell from the One who would endow
Me with the best that He could give
He gave His all that I could live.

He stretched His arms out on a cross
To cleanse me of my filth, my dross;
The Man of Sorrows bled for me
The sacrifice to set me free.

The Lamb of God was slain for me
To give me life eternally.

How Touching & how Beautiful, Denise--Your poem portrait of The Man Of Sorrows is so real and personal--Oh how clearly the eyes of Faith can see & percieve Spiritual Realities.
Thank You for a Job well done!   David

Thanks so much for your warm comments! I'm glad it blessed you! I've never had much luck getting published. I keep sending them out..follow all the rules (including A  SASE!)but I never hear anything...not even a rejection letter) Oh, well, for now I am happy just to share here at Passions! At least I know somebody is reading them! Thanks again!

Oh...once I did get a rejection letter..hehehe...
