Why is it some don't take seriously
What's written in God's word?
They say the book of Revelation
That it don't need to be heard.

They think it is irrelevant,
When it happens, they won't be here
This is very contrary
To what it says in there

The teaching of man's tradition
What they think that it should mean
By taking from and adding to
God's word, they haven't seen.

It clearly states in Revelation
Go on and take a look
That whosever takes away,
Will be taken from Life's book.

For if you add what is not there
Of the prophecy of this book
The plaques that are written therein
Will be added to you, go look.

You'll find it in the very back
Revelations means to unveil
It's not something that's hidden
But shown so you'll prevail

Be careful with the words of men
Always check them out
For what is written is what must be
God states that with no doubt.

I think it very serious
This promise made herein
For it concerns your very life
And the soul that lies within

The punishment is quite severe
For those who will not heed
It will cost your eternal soul
If your not planting God's true seed.

I think it would be safe to do
If we stuck with what God said
And taught the written word
And not man's thoughts instead.

Revelation 22:18-19

Great job whitedove, this poem calls attention to be aware of false prophets, and to check everything with scripture.  Your warning is heeded.

Nate I am truly blessed by a reply such as yours. I almost threw this one in the garbage the other day. Thanks to Poet Devine, she told me I better not! Once again Nate thank you so very much! That is quite the compliment, but all credit goes unto the Lord, for it is His masterpiece and He that inspires me! God bless you!

Samsonheart thank you! It is always good to check it out against scripture!

Echo, I miss you sweetie!~  Thank you my dear, and that is very sincerely. I am praying for you and I hope to talk with you soon!

Mirjam thank you very much! Truly inspired by God.

People can twist scripture to mean whatever it is they want it to mean.  I think that is one of the beautiful things about the bible, its open to our interpretation.  That is why they call it the Living Book.

Truer words could not be spoken, Rebecca.  This has always bothered me in the back of my mind, the way some religions feel so adamantly free to change (add or subtract) from the word of God.  You've stated the point very, very well here.  Amen!

Blueyz...thank you. We are not to change what is written to fit us, but to abide by the word of God.  It is called the Living Word because Jesus is the Word...John 1:1...
In the beginning was the WORD, and the
Word was with God, and the WORD
was God.

IN Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me.) to do thy will, O God.

Michael thank you!  Yes, to change it to fit our needs or what we think it would fit, is changing the word of God. It's very important not to do that.  Things will happen as they are written. It is to fulfill what is written...and God will not stray from that path!

I admire your insight into the Word,Dove. Most believers don't bother with this book,
because it is full of parables,etc.. There have probably been more books of esplanation
written about this last book of the Bible tho' than any of the others..I don't pay too much attn' to them tho'..most are just mens'
carnal thoughts of what it means..and there are probably as many renditions of thought as there are books..huh?  I like your interpretation as much as any!  I believe it's a lot more on target than theirs!  By the way, I have a friend who has been       studying Revelation exclusively for 7 years.
He lives in N.W. Ark. He is currently writing
a book [also] on Rev..I think you wil find this one quite different than all the others.
This one is inspired by the Spirit and 100'sX
of hours of torturous, dedicated studying and praying..& the reward is there to be seen in
the words..YOU would be fascinated by the truths in this soon to be book. Again,I truly
love your mission here in the forum & may the Holy Spirit continue to whisper truths into your understanding..The Word says "light
is whatsoever maketh manifest"..Bless you..

James thank you, I sure appreciate that. I have been studying with an Arnold Murray in Northern Ark for around 8-9 years now.  He has taught revelations many times.
I hope your friend has success on his book.  I sure would be interested in looking at it, as the things that I have been taught not many know about.  It would be interesting to see all the time and effort he's put into this.  Thanks again!

What shall we say to these things?  Whtdove you have captured this scripture so profoundly.  Even a small child could understand it through this poem.  Keep up the great work. You've definitely made me do some self inventory just to make sure that when that trumpet sounds, I'll be one of the ones that hears it.  Listen to your mom about your children. Revelation was the first book of the bible that I read, It is one of my favorites because it is filled with so much mystery of God and his intelligence! Your poem was great! So many people are lost and being mislead because of wrong beliefs which ADD to the bible and some change it and take away! I believe in the whole bible! Every word is written for me!
Amen! Lets have church!

Romantic Heart, isn't that funny, that is the very first book I started with too! It sure is full of symbology and wonders! I'm glad to hear you take it as a whole, because it was, ALL of it, written for us, so that we may know what is to come. "For there is nothing new under the sun." It is an example to us, for what was will be again, as it was in the beginning it shall be in the end"
I'm all for it, let's go!
Thank you RH!

PRAISE THE LORD! I too read REVELATIONS first. And it scared me to the point that I cried for days on end.  But it made me check myself and my life. And now I can say I am a new creature made clean and whole....
Whtdove and Romantic Heart "LET'S HAVE CHURCH UP IN HERE!!!!"  We can start something very profound by letting the Lord's Spirit move in This Forum!!! I'm Ready!

Thanks Shirl, that's a great thought, but I don't actually think I could do that here. It would have to be done privately.
I have to say at first that book scared me too, but now that I've studied it, and know God is my protector, I have nothing to fear.
The book is full of symbology and has quite a bit of information if you can understand it!  I'd be happy to do some over icq, or in email or something....but I cannot start something like that here, alright?

You talk of Angels
Here is an Angel I send to you

Angel

To sense the presence of an angel is like feeling the wind all around you. You cannot actually see the wind, but you notice it’s movement, and you know that it is there.
(Unkown)
Hope that your Angel will always be around you, can you feel a breeze.

Thank you Majestic! The traditions of men can sure be decieving. Everything "man" or I should say Humans do gets us in trouble and when we start doing that with God's word...we best beware!

Rebecca-

It is nice seeing that you indeed have some scholarly knowledge in important parts of the Bible like Revelations. It has so many dramatic passages and so many important messages hidden beyond metaphorical words. No man shall add to what was put down by the command of God, nor twist the words or take them away. I thought this an excellent read and most direct to the point.

Thank you Arthur! I am really overwhelmed by all the responses this has generated. It's funny as I was talking with my husband this morning about web pages. He was saying to make one about where others could be helped in the word of God. I was like naw...I have recieved 2 emails to that affect today also. Maybe God is telling me something you think?

I am looking to go into web design you all, and it may take me a while to get it up and running, cause as of the moment I don't know to much about it. I thank you all for your responses, and think I might just do something to that affect!  God bless you all!

Words of wisdom, Rebecca! Very powerful piece. 'Let God be true and every man a liar'(don't know the address but it just popped into my head just now) How I wish I could just shake some people so they would wake up to the truth, ya know? So frustrating at times.....especially when family members are involved. So enamored by the 'traditions of men' when it comes to religion.......I'll just keep praying for them. Great poem, again, Rebecca! Good luck with the Web site!!< !signature-->

It is frustrating I know! But you plant and it's up to God to make it grow.  God Bless ya Denise and thank you!
