Matthew, Chapter 6
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

MY ANSWERED PRAYER

A year ago unto this day,
I would not have believed you true,
Two years ago, there is no way,
I could have appreciated you.

I spent many an angry year
Questioning God's intent on life.
Cried many a frustrated tear,
Thinking I'd never hold a "true" wife.

My needs, always first in my book,
Loneliness, a hard lesson to learn.
I finally took the time to look
At what I was giving in return.

It was there stubbornness and pride
Guided me to humility.
It was there I learned a loving bride,
Must first find love inside of me.

I realized my unworthiness,
And my unwillingness to give.
It's there I begged His forgiveness,
And prayed He teach me how to live.

Now, following life, to His accord,
Walking closer each day through His word.
With focus changed from "me" to my Lord,
He's answered the prayer I thought unheard.

I feel your love around me at night,
The miles don't separate our souls.
I'll dance with you, my bride in white,
As we share through Him our lifelong goals.

Now I realize He always heard me,
My needs, always, were in His care.
Only when I stopped asking selfishly,
Did He give you to me, my answered prayer.

Gennifer, you have been a blessing to my life.  You are my gift from God, I know.  If we continue to strengthen each other with God's word, there is nothing we won't accomplish together.  I love you, and i thank God every day for bringing you into my life.

Michael this is so very touching!  It's just amazing what God can do when we surrender isn't it?  I can't tell you and Gennifer how wonderful it is to see you two hold God at the head of it all. As it should be.
I'm sure she is heaven sent, and one of ya to hold the other up in faith. What a blessing it is.

Well first, give me a minute to stop crying.....I sure hate it that all these innocent bystanders have to watch us "embrace" and "blubber through tears" about our love for eachother!     hehe
On a serious note Michael, just between me and you, I'm starting to realize why God allowed this to happen....We are both children of God's, have been for years in our hearts - we had both lost sight of the one true light that we should have been following.....Isn't it amazing how God lets us try our hand at being our own navigator, tossed on the sea of life until we were both exhausted from trying to sail the ship "our way"....and failing miserably to say the least - it's when you're nearly shipwrecked that you finally look to him for strength and guidance, and realize that there has to be a better way!  We were on the same sea, both ready to give up - but when we focused our faith on him, and gave him control, that's when we found eachother, and the sea became calm....Now we're helping eachother swim to shore - his shore.  We are eachother's strength...Our eyes are upon him....he is our compass.  Now I know why he brought us together...to inspire one another, in him.  To give eachother strength through him...as a couple.  I am your helpmate, Michael.....I hope that's ok with you...    This still has me crying, I'll shut up now and go blow my nose.  Thank you for helping me find my focus.

=*o)  I'll be over here crying too, this is great.  You both deserve each other, and I know this not only cause I see it, but also because you would not be if God did not see so too!  I wish you the best!

I feel a group hug coming on. LOL!  That was a great piece of writing.  I love to see couples with there relationship built on a foundation of God.  God had a plan for both of you and he is starting to show you more and more as the days go by.  As I always tell people and write about in my work, just when you think God has shown you the best of his workings he comes and shows you more.  God's working never cease.

God Bless,

Jer

What a beautiful way to express your sincerety and thankfulness.  I'm sure everyone reading it was as moved as I am.  May you two never forget these feelings of warm devotion!
