                   I saw the
                smile sneak into
              your eyes and slowly
            spread - the skin around
your lips began to crack, peel
away, and your face opened up like
       a                            sunflower.
You shed seeds which salty tears wat-
ered, and said "The sun has risen."
I saw the darkness receed from
            your life, the light slowly
             spread until it infiltra-
                ted your everything
                 and you exclaimed
                   "the son has
                       risen."

(I guess this doesn't really asthetically look like a sunflower, but it was the intention.  oh well.)

The son makes all things new, makes even poetry take the form of a flower, one of his most beautiful creations!

Both the words and the form are art! THANKS!

Absolutely beautiful

Ya know...when I was looking at it, it reminded me of a Thumb Print. The space there in between a-and-sunflower...
Did you ever see those T-shirts that said, I was touched by God...and on the back it has a big thumb print with a cross in the middle?

I thought your efforts are wonderful as well as your message! I enjoyed this!

Thanks guys!!!  (it's cool how you can use different colours and stuff now eh - i like it!!  Only just figured it out and realised i should have written it in yellow so you'll just have to pretend.)  That thumb print is pretty cool Wtdove - it's neat to think that we have his print on our lives.

A warmth to us all, mirjam.  Indeed, "the Son has risen."

I love the art, and the truth, of your words.
