I heard about a man named Jesus
who was an outlaw don't you see?
He said I'll give you eternal life
if you just believe in me.

As He went around the city
He was healing the sick and blind
the Pharisees couldn't catch Him
so they said it was a crime.

Now this man claims to be
the Son of God in Heaven above
why that's blasphemy brother Sadducee!
Let's rebuke Him in brotherly love.

Well, we've got you now you King of Jews
hanging up on that tree,
you went around breaking all our laws
now lets see you get free.

The third day was now approaching
and my God! He's disappeared!
Now hurry and go tell the King
about the awful thing we feared.

This man named Jesus is the King
just as He always claimed
we've crucified an innocent man
and Yeshua is His name.

I met a man named Jesus
who was an outlaw don't you see
He's broken all the laws of sin
and set us eternally free!

What a cool poem!! I was reading this book the other day that discussed the exact issue of Jesus being an outlaw - definately agree on the advantage point here - Jesus may have broken all the laws but he set us free. Amen. Another awesome poem from an awesome poet!

You have made an excellent point with this poem and the title will draw both the saved and the unsaved to read.  This was a very good idea you had.  I agree with your point of view.  He broke all of man's laws but did not break one of God's.  He full-filled the law of Love for us.

mirjam...may I choose to disagree with the lat thing you wrote? =o)

Severn...Thank you kindly!

Maddad...I hoped and do hope that the title of this poem would draw people in on curiosity of what I was talking about, as in believers either wondering if I was crazy or knew what I meant, and non-believers to come in because they think they might agree with the title (only in a different way).  I am glad you liked it *and everyone else who replied as well*)

So very clever don't you think,
that Echo with one clever wink,
turned the man who made the law,
into what He is, and what He saw.

Although a repost, Echo, I'd say you have some good timing.  Thank you so very much for sharing.

AMEN!

In this case, what else can be said?  All glory to Him for giving us our gifts!  What a privilege to be His child!
