For seven years the battle's raged between myself and me,
Now I'm willing, now I'm weak on a double-minded sea,
We wrestle as at Peniel, against more than flesh and blood,
See past the log the face of God a blind man saw through mud,

In betwixt a life to Christ and a death that is my gain,
A marathon on feet of clay, let it not be run in vain,
Mirror of Him I hope to be, though a mere image I am still,
Dimly from my bushel try to be a city on a hill,

But every morning in the glass I see my face once more,
Then go my way as I forget just who I was before,
We wrestle on with every step, this old dead man and I,
Will he soon be nailed down, the me I fight to crucify?

See the law within my members captivating me with sin,
Face the mighty truth that sets me free time and time again
To walk out of darkness and back into the light,
Face another day, find the faith for fighting the good fight.

Note: The verse appearing acrostically is First Corinthians 13:12a from the NRSV.

i can also totally relate to this struggle
- we have to die to our sins daily in our
walks with God and it truly is a fight.
You expressed it really well!

This is both ingenious & inspirational. Very good! May we see more?

My God Folks, is Jesus coming out of the Tomb of Flesh? Out of the spiritual closet, so to speak? Are the "dead bones" rising up from the "valley of Ezekiel 37? Are the prophets, like the "eagles", coming back? I feel a depth of subtle TRUTH, SPIRIT, & REVELATION here in this work of art,to title it lightly. Brother, I don't know where you came from, but I know where you've been! This forum is full of "fire" tonite! Sir, I believe you must have a connection of some sort with the Paul of Tarsus...God bless you for sharing what He has given you and welcome to this forum, you truly took me into the depths of the Spirit..Loved it..got any more, I bet?
