As I awaken during the early morning hours
I think of my God and all His gracious powers.
When I open my eyes from slumber and rest
I know once again I've been truly blessed.

It's not my choice whether I live or die
or walk among the stars beneath the clear moon sky.
It's not my choice to hear church bells ring
or to lend an ear while a sparrow sings.
Yes, my God has given me the gift of life
for whom His only Son He sacrificeed.

I'm fortunate to have someone who cares for me
someone who wont judge or ridicule me.
Whenever Im feeling bad or down on my luck
I can always depend on Him to lift me up.

So be thankful for all things in this world
the animals, the trees, the flowers, the birds.
And when you awake and times are not the best
just remember, God loves you and you're truly blessed.

Very well done, Melanie. We humans have a tendancy to take things for granted in this world....in nature, in friends, in everything, and though I am no one to say what created us.....Whatever, or whoever did it, is certainly a power to be reckoned with, and should be thanked, because even though we humans have destroyed nearly everything, there is still a little bit of beauty left. We need to appreciate it while it lasts.

wonderful poem - this truly reminds me of the
blessings God gives us every day in just
giving us life. To be able to wake up in the morning with food provided for, shelter, clothes, people who love us, and so much more - how can we ever complain? It makes me think that even when everything seems to be going wrong in your life you can still be thankful for 10 mill ion things and praise God for them. Amen and thanks!!!
