Oh, little One upon the hay
Born for mankind Christmas Day
Oh, precious Gift, God's grand display
Of perfect love for us today
Prepare the hearts of all we pray
Impart Your peace, all fears allay

Yes, enter in this special day
God's gracious Gift be ours today.

Oh, suff'ring Savior on the tree
You gave all You had for me
You heard my cry, You heard my plea
You gave Your love, You set me free
Now gracious Lord You'll ever be
My treasure for eternity

You entered in that special day
God's gracious Gift is mine today.

12/98 (One of my first poems)

Beautiful, Denise. The "true" gift of Christmas is so often overlooked this day and age. Wonderful reminder.

This was one of your first? Wow, Denise! I found this to be well written-thanks for bringing it forward as I missed it the first time around!

Set every threadbare sail-
And give her to the god of storms,
The lightning and the gale!

A wonderful poem, my friend--Jesus earthly life from being to end-was meant as a blessing to us all--thanks for giving us the big picture-in a lovely way!

Wow! Pretty good effort for a first poem. It's shows that you are a natural poet.
