(I know this isn't poetry, but I found it so moving I had to post it and din't know where else would be better to do so than here....Whtdove/Micheal....it it's not appropriate here, please move to a better forum...thanks Ruth)

Sometimes God Whispers

A young man who had been raised as an atheist was training to be an Olympic diver. The only religious influence in his life came from his outspoken Christian Friend. The young diver never really paid much attention to his Friend's sermons, but he heard them often. One night the diver went to the indoor pool at the college he attended.
The lights were all off, but as the pool had big skylights and the moon was bright, there was plenty of light to practice by.
The young man climbed to the highest diving board and as he turned his back to the pool on the edge of the board and extended his arms out, he saw his shadow on the wall. The shadow of his body was in the shape of a cross.
In stead of diving, he knelt down and asked God to come into his life. As the young man stood, a maintenance man walked in and turned the lights on.
The pool had been drained for repairs.

a friend of mine [a minister's wife] sent this to me. So often I have pieces of spiritual nature sent to me - not poetry, but prose.

I would think that Ron and the other moderators would not mind anything of spiritual nature, such as this piece that Hoot posted, and would be welcome.

When I read this the first time, Hoot, I got chills. It doesn't matter, does it, that one "thinks" they don't believe...in the end, they usually do...

He is always there for us all. A wonderful story Ruth. I don't have any great ones, but he has showed me possible problems before they happened. He alterted me to Dylan once too. Loved this, thanks for sharing it

Ruth, thank you for posting this. I believe I have read this once before, and still I get chills reading it! Sometimes we don't realize the power behind God, and you know that God was watching over this young man that nightm speaking to him, and something clicked and amen to that, or he would not be here today! Power and praise to God above!
Once again, thank you for posting!

Ruth, Thanks so much for sharing this with all of us. It's amazing the strength in this piece to give that chilling reaction to everyone who reads it. God works in mysterious ways and this just proves how wonderful and loving he can be.
