Lord, as this day draws to a close,
I'd like to thank you for the doors you opened for me today
the people that touched me
and the touch you gave me
I've never lived a pure life,
I've never done your will every time
but I desire to be touched by you now
I pray that you bless me
I pray that you protect me
I pray that you make your will known to me.
in what is said and done
in the way I live my life
in things spoken and seen
as I try to walk closer to you
may you help guide me to remain close
and remind me when I've walked away
remind me when I'm led astray
remind me when I'm in your light
for I know that feeling
of spiritual delight

"It is quite beyond me how anyone can believe God speaks to us in books and stories. If the world does not directly reveal to us our relationship to it, if our hearts fail to tell us what we owe ourselves and others, we shall assuredly not learn it from books, which are at best designed but to give names to our errors."

This is a wonderful prayer that I know I have said and need to say more often. Thanking Him for what He does, asking Him to help you let Him draw closer to you, etc. Is such a change in a way I and a lot of people pray most of the time. A lot of people as well as myself go to the Lord in prayer and complain about the day they have had, ask for help in dealing with situations, etc. But how many times a day to we stop to just thank Him, or ask to be drawn closer. I know that a simple Thank you Lord, Amen. prayer is a true blessing and we sometimes take for granted. <~~And I know what I want to say, but it doesnt seem to be coming out right LoL Great poem though!

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!
