If I Were There.... |

If I were there what would I do When Christ the Savior was betrayed? Would I fare better than all the 12-- Or join in their "exit parade"? I know what I would like to think-- Somehow I'd be diff'rent than them, But alas, I know I am not that strong For I too, am weak as a man. With shame, I face my own weakness What strength I have's from Christ alone, 'Tis the sick that seeks a physician-- How I need Jesus for my own! For it's in weakness, I'm made strong And then, that His Grace will suffice, It's to Him I owe my life, my all-- Who unselfishly paid sin's price. If I were there what would I do? The same as all the human race, I know that I'm Nothing of myself-- But Everything's by Love's Embrace! ------------------ "Our Creativity points to a Higher Creator--we couldn't have just happened, and for what ability we may possess--to God be the glory." -dlw- |

An interesting question you ask there...I wonder what any of us would do in that situation? ------------------ Alis volat propriis (She flies with her own wings) |

Wow, deleeme, This one really makes you think... A wonderful depiction. I, too, know I would falter to be in the place of the 12 deciples as I seem to so often here, today. I can only off praise to Jesus for His unselfish act, indeed, "Everything's by Love's Emnbrace!" Michael |

Tis an intriguing question indeed...I know (as you) what I would like to do and would hope I would have done, but I can not honestly say that I would have stood up for Him then. I was once faced with a tough question...someone had pulled a knife on me while I walking home from church one day about a year ago and asked me if I believed in God, I said yes, asked me if I loved Him, I said yes...this went on and on...Finally he said are you willing to die for this Jesus of yours (and stuck the knife to my throat) I looked him in the eyes and said yes...he dropped his knife and he is now involved in our church. I had the guts then to proclaim my faith and stand for whom I love and believe in, but I dont know if I would have done the same thing if everyone else was chickening out like they did when Jesus was betrayed. But I also do not know, because I was not there, therefore cannotgive an accurate answer. I would like to think I would stand up for Him, but I do not know! This raises a very interesting question though and this is a very great poem! Thank you for posting! ------------------ ~*~ Time erases and rewrites all the lines. What remains is the poetry! ~*~ |
