That place with padded walls and funny people in white.........

~This is more os a philisophical poem about God and creation than a proclamation of faith, I hope I am not out of line.~

I tilt my head toward the sky
My head full of one question- "why?"

Why are any of us on this earth?
Why are we allowed to give birth?

Why did we make nuclear bombs?
Why are babies stolen from moms?

Why are children often alone?
Why did scientists make a clone?

Why are we playing God?

Why does it end where it begins?
Who can decide what we call sin?

Is this what God had always planned?
Did he think before he made man?

Or maybe someone just played God
Maybe he's a mere mortal, flawed?

What if we're a test that went bad?
Running rampant and going mad?

What if we're in a petri dish
Poked at by an alien fish?

Why are we here? Why are we here?
Does it matter, what we hold dear?

Why did God make mankind?

********
Ok, I'll apologize now for rambling in this poem which is not very good at all.

I don't think you rambled. These questions I'm sure have come to all of us at some point in our lives. Some things we just can't understand. The only thing I am 100% sure of is God's love for His creation. I don't feel the need anymore to figure it all out. I thought your poem was good.

Sys,

I sent you an email doing my sincere best to answer the question about Jesus in my "Because" thread. That you have these questions is not a bad thing, we all question God at times...it is only in seeking these answers that the truth will ever be revealed to us. Though I am probably not qualified to tell you what these truths are you seek, I will certainly do my best to help you find them if you are sincerely seeking them. I hope you will read and reply to my email.

Michael

S.D. I thought they were questions that many have wondered. You've done a good job in putting them down. If you are seeking like Michael has asked I would also love to help you!

Amy, in a church service we had once our pastor asked us a question....he said, if you were face to face with God and could ask Him one question what would you ask....my aswer was simply WHY. I think 'WHY' is a question anyone wants to know....why this, why that. But I do not think we need to know. Everything we need to know is in the Bible. All the answers to the questions we ask are in the Bible. But I do know God has a reason for everything, though sometimes we see it in different views, but He will never give us more than we can bear. God has the answers, you just have to believe that and ask Him. Though this is what I believe and think, you are free to decide for yourself!

Each man has chosen a path that is truly his or her own. Whether we object or affirm this path is truly one for us not to judge. I often question my religion and feel that I have to choose a path that will allow me to be myself. A path begins with the big toe, then the sole, and finally the heel. You have to give your life direction; you can't blame the world for your mistakes. Be a woman; own up to your mistakes; correct you path. You and you alone can walk in your shoes. Be strong my sister.

I don't think you rambled either. I liked it - it made me think of the question i always put to God - Why did you die for me?
It's a stupid question in a way because i know why - because he loved us - but when you come before Him in repentence and you wrench your heart out in sorrow for grieving Him you think I am not worthy enough for Him to have died for me. And He always answers
Because I love you. And then i put forward the question Why do you love me? And he always answers Because you are my child. And
for some reason that's where my why's end - i guess it is enough. The question why doesn't always have answers - it could travel in circles and have no end, God can never be fully understood and i think that's pretty cool in a way - we are forever having revelations over parts of what God is and does, and this fuels our spiritual walks and
encourages us to press in and know Him more.
Thank you for this poem - it really impacted
me. Mirjam.
