one day i awoke to find,
a total stranger in my mind.
my solitude had been forsaken,
it was my soul that he had taken.

i try to reason with my thought,
it was my mind that he had bought.
i wonder what is left of me,
he has my eyes i cannot see.

i struggle with my inner feelings,
he tells me no and sends me reeling.
i need to salvage one last part,
but it's too late, he has my heart.

i feel lost, out on an ocean,
ever sinking, without emotion.
the waves envelope me, toss me around,
it's an unknown place to where i am bound.

i see things i've never seen before,
as i'm washed upon a distant shore.
i wade up out of the ripping tide,
there's someone with me, by my side.

my vision is clouded, i'm filled with fear,
i hear voices whispering in my ear.
could it be this stranger that invaded me,
i look for answers, hear my plea.

the stranger speaks, his voice familiar,
i listen intently, his words peculiar.
i have been with you for all eternity,
for i am you and you are me.

i have always been there, your steps i followed,
your very life i have shadowed.
into your life i did not creep,
for i am here to awaken your sleep.

i am your conscious, not a stranger,
to protect and keep you from all danger.
advice i have, if you will hear it.
for i am you, your inner spirit.

the things i say are out of love,
listen to them carefully, they're from above.
the role of angel is my part,
follow me, for i am your heart.

me.

You've stated your case very well-like a simple rhyming story that enters into the sublime-very good!

If one chooses not to listen to their inner spirit, life is turmoil, indeed. Good poem, mojar.

Mojar, this is a very good poem indeed and I will once again 'echo' the above statements! You give a great point with this poem! I liked it greatly!
