Caught
on a pinnacle
a ledge
of cruel
self doubt

...you...

question
a blind
uncaring sky
while
watching
its reflection
in deep water

for you feel
unworthy
to raise your eyes

...I...

poet-speak
live and run
to the edge
of life
lay the past
in its garden
buried

forget
and learn
and forgive

...yourself...

Mirrored
and echoed
we two
once
yet now a new time

...I...

make it safe
my friend

Come.

the sky
in which I used to fly
where now
holds only

what?

dreams
hopes
love
hope

no...

still doubt

yet doubt is not the end
need not breed despair
nor lead away
from friendship

from the guiding hand
which cares
and holds

I come

In your caring you have made a safe place--beautiful poem-beautiful you.

the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Christopher steered me not wrong when recommending I read this piece. 'Tis lovely work my friend.

Severn, this was absolutely beautiful my friend. Your kind and caring nature rings clear in it. You have created a safe haven with your caring heart, it would be a fool who would not come to that safety.

Christopher...wonderful response my friend. We can't look back, the past is over and done with....but, we can dream of a future to be...look ahead where your future lays and don't waste time looking back

My, what beautiful things I miss when I'm away. I'm very glad to have found this today. It is breathtaking,as is the response...and portrays the beauty of two hearts for whom friendship patiently waits. Do not hesitate to accept the invitation.

Wow Severn they're so right about your heart - it's huge!!! Both poems were beautiful and capture a friendship that has survived it's ups and downs, and will be sturdier because of it.  Great stuff!!!
