Have you ever felt emotions..
Which your words could not describe?
In part a desperation-
To run somewhwere and hide?
In part a flaming anger-
That happiness eludes...
Your every quest to find it...
And false hope oft deludes.
Perhaps a nagging longing-
For sweet companionship?
Which often seemed within your grasp-
And yet you let it slip....
Away. Yes, oh, so far away-
From all the life you’ve known-
And oft you’ve cried yourself to sleep
And wondered where it’s gone.
Perhaps it’s age, which causes me
To sit and meditate-
And curse the day which I was born
And blame it all on “fate”.
I guess the truth which we all know-
If only we could take it...
Is that bed on which we lie...
Is exactly like we make it.

I like this one gunslinger. It has a nice concept and your words are truthful. Keep the good work up!

Yes, it is true, we all make our choices in life, some for the good, some not so. Again, wonderful poem, Gunslinger!

Oh Slinger -
Sometimes you just break my heart.
Bless you as you meditate ...
Merry Christmas, Slinger.

You had to go write this just when I was so sure everyone else was to blame! haha
Great poem on a subject we're all too familiar with....realization.  Thanks
