The Mother of all New Years Eves

You say it's a millennium?
That this is something great to see
A New Years Eve to celebrate
The best that there will ever be?

You say that the entire world
Will be dancing in the streets
The Mother of all New Years Eves
A carnaval beyond belief?

Why is this one special?
It's just another thousand years
Just another day gone by
To cry another thousand tears

What is New Years Eve without him?
What's the use to celebrate?
My feet won't dance another dance
If this is going to be my fate

So I'll just sit home by the fire
And feel the comfort it imparts
And treat with care and tenderness
This Mother of all Broken Hearts

Kamla,
I wrote this one as I was posting.
I must be in a sad mood today.
I'll try to cheer up and write something happier!

We all dance
in the moves
of sadness
and while
a time for
joyous waltz
is ever near

the turns
you sway
must be complete
before the
next dance
can begin...

You don't have to always write cheerful things, my friend...

More hugs, K

The mother of all broken hearts?
Well let's mend that thang at once!
Let this poem just be the start,
And cheer ya up a bunch!

First, get away from the fire,
Get nekkid, go outdoors,
All the guys you could desire,
Will flock to you in scores.

Forget those guys in cop cars,
Pretend they don't exist,
But if they should arrest you,
You'd better not resist.

Besides it could be pleasurable?
(Handcuffed by guys in blue)
The experience may be desirable?
(Two cops and nekkid you)

Might as well start off the year,
Putting a smile on someone's face,
Those cops may be quite lonely too?
Till they take you to their place.

Severn...I hope it does....Yanno a little poem is better to cheer someone up with then some of the alternatives..They've got drugs to bring ya down, drugs to cheer ya up....and though some poetry's addicting, it's still not as bad for ya...(Then again, I had several teachers, parents, and others that used to say I was a real pill?)Wonder what they meant?....

Kamla and Toe,
I don't need those guys in blue
If I have got the two of you
Thanks, guys

Toe,
I'm laughing harder by the minute, but seriously, I don't think Kamla can make it (too far)

At the risk of interrupting... *EG*

Great poem, Elizabeth... the more hoopla there is, the harder it is sometimes to deal with knowing you won't have your special someone there to celebrate with. *G*

But yanno... for a cheer-up team like you got, I'll get sad, too! LOL.

Great poem, Toe!!! I like your poetic cheer dispensing very much! (And I'm sure they meant that "pill" as a compliment. LOL. I know I need my daily dose of you! *G*)

Suthern,
You won't ever be sad, my dear
A gem of a fellow you have near
To cheer up and old hen like me
With his erotic poetry!
Just keep him close
Don't let him go
You two have got something special
We all know

Toe,
Only Sy can answer for himself on this one.
And he's not here to defend himself.

OMG... the mental images!  I think it'll take a crowbar to get them out my head. Batter up!

Isn't it amazing the direction things can take when there's a Toe about? At first she was sitting all alone by the fire and the next thing ya know everybody's in bed together.  Talk about politics making strange bed fellows!

Kamla,
Yes, you are a butterfly and how lovely Marge's poem about you. She did capture you in her words.
Liz

Andrew,
You've given me another laugh! Thanks.
Yes, things do get out of hand fast don't they. I'm still sitting by the fire, though.
Thanks for the read.
Liz

I...uh...
Geesh, after reading all of the ..er juicy replies, I've forgotten what the poem was about!!!
Oh yes, I remember.  This is a special New Year due to the fact that it only happens every thousand years.  But after all this, I don't think you need cheering up any longer. LOL!!
I'm just wondering why I haven't been invited?! Is there a such thing as menage a five????
eeeek!  You people are bad influences!!!   *giggles*
In any case, I wish you a very Happy New Year...no matter how you spend the evening, my dear.

Sally, Thanks, my friend, we wouldn't have left you out. But Sy decided to play golf instead, so it ruined everything.
Gosh, you know Toe is a bad influence isn't he, but at least he cheered me up and so did you. Thanks for the comments, and Happy New Year!
