Forever In Your Heart

What is Christmas anymore?
Buying material gifts from a store,

What have we become?
Filled with so much self,

We have put away our giving,
We have placed our love upon the shelf,

What does it mean anymore?
Just any other day?

Stop and take a look around you,
Breathe for a moment or two,

The true Christmas comes from the heart,
One of love and giving,

A hug or smile,
A friend to stay and chat awhile,

Life is precious,
So short,

Happiness is in the little things,
not diamonds on a ring,

Nor silver or gold,
But in memories to behold,

Joy and laughter,
Sharing stories of old,

Eating Christmas dinners together,
as the evening unfolds,

Singing Carols down the street,
Greeting friendly people you meet,

Having food to eat,
Sitting by a cozy fire,

Family and friends,
Gather to conspire,

Homemade food and gifts,
Encourageing words that give our hearts a lift,

The birth of the Christ child,
Who was lowly meek and mild,

Helping others in need,
Taking away our self and greed,

Chistmas doesn't stop here,
For I have Christmas everyday of the year,

Look deep within your heart,
Search there and you will find,

That you can have TRUE Christmas anytime!

Beautiful, Romantic Heart ...
Just think ... only 365 days left
to celebrate Christmas ... EVERYDAY !
But .... thank goodness we don't have
to shop all of those days !
I'm pooped from shopping and wrapping.
Merry Christmas

Great poem, you've really expressed the true meaning of Christmas. I have a poem that is similiar to yours in a way. Mine will be up soon and I know that everyone will like it.
