Long ago this heart was shattered.
I can't remember why, it doesn't even matter.
It was hard to chase the ghosts from my past,
And to realize theat dreams don't always last.

Fearing tomorrow and missing yesterday,
I was left all alone with a new game to play.
I was laughing out loud, but crying within.
Not knowing if I could ever trust again.

But the sands of time slipped by.
And the dark veil lifted and swept across the sky.
Life was once again calling to me.
And these chains vanished setting my heart free.

At first I wandered around in delusion and doubt.
Wondering just what life was all about.
But I kept searching, hoping to find
Those magical dreams etched in the back of my mind.

A new facet of tomorrow is what I found.
And a new wheel of dreams spin round and round.
This time I'll be careful with the dream I take,
As I will have to live with the choice I make.
