Arise, my soul, and hail the dawning day
Appreciate this opportunity
Bestowed on you to give, to love, to play
Cast yesterday far deep beneath the sea.

Pressed down be not by sorrows of the past
Nor trouble borrow from a future time
Be still, my soul, find peace and hold it fast
And drift upon calm streams of rest sublime.

The future's not yet here, the past is gone
'Tis wasted time to dwell upon such things
Enjoy this day, this present golden dawn
And skim each cresting wave on soaring wings.

The Captain of my ship can never fail
O'er troubled waters I can safely sail.

Was that a sonnet? If it was then it was a very good one. My hat goes off to you because, a sonnet is not that easy to write.
