This morning I checked my E-mail
(I do it daily without fail).
A great way for my day to start....
A Christmas card from my sweetheart!

A scene of snow-capped mountains tall
With sprinkles of a light snowfall,
A tiny cottage, windows bright,
With stars above cascading light.

A Christmas melody then played
All while the picture was displayed.
It's beauty took my breath away -
A precious gift for Christmas day.

But, much more than the scenery,
It was the words that got to me
Of love undying from my sweet
And how I made her life complete.

She said I was the only one
That she could truly count upon
And she would have a perfect life
The day that she became my wife.

Yes, blessed I am that she is mine.
My eyes devoured every line.
There's just one doubt that does arise -
Who are all those cc: guys?

Very cute! You must be a fan of O.Henry! Love the twist at the end!

I was in tears of jealousy
At all the love and harmony
And at the end, your autograph
A Balladeer twist to make me laugh

This was so sweet and sentimental--I knew there was going to be a twist and you didn't disappoint me.  Great poem.

the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

IT'S A SHAME ABOUT THOSE "CC" GUYS,
I'M SURE THAT WAS A REAL SURPRISE,
BUT THERE'S SOMETHING ELSE POOR BALLADEER,
ANOTHER "SOMETHING" SHE'S TOLD US HERE.

WE'VE OFTEN HEARD HER AS SHE'S SAID,
YOU'RE THE SECOND BEST LOVER SHE'S EVER HAD,
BUT WHAT'S DISHEARTENING AND I'M SURE IT HURTS,
THERE'S A HUNDRED OR SO GUYS TIED FOR FIRST!

I fail to see the comedy
In the label attached as "cc:"
Courtesy Copy to be sure
To let them no they do not allure.

Be still your heart oh ballast one
To make sure that your not undone.
At least we can take comfort and know
It wasn't addressed first to Toe.

(oh yeah...sorry about the pervert tag...lol)
Merry Christmas bud!

But RS you failed to see,
That it was originally addressed to me?
So just for fun, and to mess with his ego,
I added "CC"...and erased the "Dear Toe"

Sir Balladeer: Thanks for the laugh... never quite sure till I get to the end whether it will be an "ahhhh..." or a "ha ha ha." You is the man! Happy holidays to you my friend.
