How Will You Remember Me?
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

When I am gone
so far away
that
I cannot return,
how will you
remember me?

When the morning breeze
touches your face,
will you believe
it's me
with
a soft caress?

At the song of the birds
in a new-fallen rain,
will it remind you
of how
my heart sang?

At the red dawn
of morning,
will you
recall
the warmth
of my love?

As the sun sets
with a rose-gold hue,
will you
remember
the glow
of my love?

When the orb of the moon
rises full
in the evening sky,
will you remember
the stroll ,
as lovers,
we took?

I've painted a canvas
for you to keep.
Love lives forever
past the portals
of time,
as we know it.

If tomorrow comes,
and
I am not there,
how
will
you
remember
my
love?

How will I remember you?
I'll see your face in skies of blue.
I'll hear your voice in robin's song
And bless the day you came along.

I'll feel your touch in April's breeze
That whispers gently through the trees.
Your smile will be the break of day
Your laughter in a child at play.

I'll sense your sadness moaning low
In cruel November winds that blow
Down canyon walls and then beyond
Long after you are finally gone.

I'll see your kindness everywhere
I see one take the time to share.
I'll see your generosity
In all the things you've given me.

I'll never find a box so large
To hold the love you gave, dear Marge
If I miss you when we're apart
I'll simply look inside my heart.

Balladeer,
I liked your poem also. I think we all feel the same way.

Marge: If I thought someone would remember me like that, it would be worth dying but only if I could come back afterwards...

Beautiful and eloquent, full of sunshine!

*I wrote this after thinking of people
who have been in my life and left impressions
that they may have never known they left.
When I think of love ... they spring easily into my thoughts.
Love to you all.  ~*Marge*~

I'd remember a heart so large with love for everyone....always open to accept another friend...
Lovely poem Marge...

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!
