Ink From Another's Pen
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

Sometimes my inkwell is full,
with colors overflowing.
I write of places I have been
and of others I may be going.

I write of loves I have known
and hopefully, some yet to be.
The words flow with abandonment
to the page in front of me.

Friends of my making
seep to the nib of the pen,
unlocking memories
of just how true they've been.

Love of a child
writes it's own rhyme.
I've been blessed to love many
who've inspired me Once Upon A Time.

There have been times
I thought the ink was gone,
I looked upon the page
and found a well-sung song.

Someone filled the inkwell,
well within my reach.
I'd like to wish a poet's wish
for those who've shared the umbrella on my beach.

Sometimes I see the words I've penned
I am driven to think ...
I may have written the words,
but I used another's ink.

Yes, inspiration is all around us, we just have to 'see' it! Very well done, Marge!

Very nice description of poetry and what it can and does give, how that one writer can lend to another inspiration.  You are definately gifted!

So true, my friend
I remember what I was writing before I opened Passions
You have truly been an inspiration, Marge
Especially in the quipping arena!
Love ya,

Ah, yes Ms. Lizzie,
you want another round.
In the quipping arena
I can be found.

In this corner
weighing in with heart so large,
we've got the quip
of Marge-In-Charge.

I'll take you on
and when I do ...
I'll make a quipper
out of you.

I've enjoyed our
inspiration ...
comes in all styles
laced with imagination.

Lizzie dear ...
you write with sage,
scribed with love
upon each page.

All the poets
here at Passion's
has inspired another
in some fashion.

Marge, few people have provided me with as much inspiration as you, dear lady. With you around, my inkwell is always filled to capacity.

It doesn't take an awful lot to make my flame rekindle,
I only need to see the words of my dear friend, Marge Tindal!

Yes that's the great thing about Passions, we can all be inspired by each other's work.
Great poem, Marge!

Balladeer -
You know I feel the same.
Thanks for being you.

A word
a thought
a phrase ...
landing in another's inkwell,
making the grandest splash.
Maybe that's where Rorschach
got his ink blots !

SeaAngel -
Inspiration feeds us all.
Thanks for liking this.

How I can relate to that fact of feeling you've run dry, but never could've thought of such a lovely way to put it.  Often I wondered if my once very hectic schedule was my inspiration for all that rhymed through my brain when I hungered for a moment to be able to pen some of it.  One needs far more than a pen and paper to form your kind of work.  Thanks so much!

"Marge-in-charge", is that a fact
Well, better hang your quipping hat
For I'll out-quip you every time
And well out-whip your quipping rhyme
I'll have this "quicker picker upper"
Singing loudly for her supper
You'll be down on bended knee
Asking me for "Mercy, Mercy!"

Marge dips her pen in Rainbow's inkwell,
under Sunshine she sits and casts her spell,
to please all others is her choice,
we sit and read, and quietly rejoice!

A Sandgrain -
Thank you so much for your very kind words.
Inspiration is everywhere.
Why, if one ever got away ... I'd have
to call a squad of muses to catch it.
Thank you again.

Elizabeth, my friend -

With quip in hand
I do reply.
Don't even go there !
Don't even try !

I'll not only
beat you with
my quick quipper upper ..
I'll have you singing
for your supper.

The greatest match
I've ever entered,
around your quips
will be centered.

Dig into
your bag of quips ..
I'll do it double
without a blip.

It will seem
to you as though
you've met the whirlwind,
Round She Goes !

When you think
you've got her beat ..
you'll turn and find her
Quipping on her feet !

Not on bended knee ..
Merci, no !
Off to the showers
YOU WILL GO !

You know I love you
Lizzie dear ...
but I've got on
my quipping gear !

It's okay
if you surrender.
I'll gloat a little
but, oh so tender.

I so enjoy
a really good match ...
inspired by the hunt,
elated by the catch.

Nan -

Yes, then I'll be
a quicker clicker
on my quicker quipper !

Yes ! Yes ! Yes !

Severn -
Hands heard clapping,
greatly appreciated ...
a reply from you
leaves this lady elated.

Hoot -
A great treat
for us all.
Visiting here
in Inspiration Hall.

Sunshine -
Such great beauty
to be found ..
under the tree of inspiration
we gather round.

Pepper -
So glad you liked.
Come back for more.
Lots of inspiration
in Passions store.

*To each of you for your replies ...
please understand,please realize,
I appreciate each of you and the inspiration you leave on my doorstep. ~*Marge*~
