Can You Mend This Broken Heart ?
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

You've tried to enter a broken heart.
It's broken beyond repair.
It isn't open for business.
If it's closed I just don't care.

You say that you're the repairman,
who can get the job done tonight.
Well, show me an estimate.
Let's see if you've figured it right.
__________________________________________
ESTIMATE FOR REPAIRS
------------------------------------------
Tender Loving Care -        No Charge
Gentle Words To Wear -      No Charge
Strong Arms To Bear  -      No Charge
A Little Time To Be Free -  No Charge
Whispers Of Love -          No Charge
Faithful Heart -            No Charge
Love In Return -            Only Charge
__________________________________________

You've shown me an estimate,
when can you start?
I want you to live
in this remodeled heart.

A sigh and a kiss brought to mind someone I said goodbye to this afternoon.  Love in return was my only charge, a price she could not pay.

Marge,
Her imagination has no end
And neither does her heart
If I were the repairman
I'd never want to part
Very, very sweet

I echo Severn.....loved this read!!

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!

Quest -

Then she wasn't the right repairman, love.
Take your time .. but get another estimate.
Love comes right in and settles down
when it's the right love.
Merry Christmas to you.

Why does it seem that the things given for free in life are the ones that people have the hardest time of accepting.

Beautiful poem, Marge and great question, Ruth. I for one don't know the answer.

Loved this poem.....Makes one think...and more so it has brought trust to my mind.  I mean to allow a repair at no cost to you is great trust that it will be done right.

TO answer Hoot>....So often when someone gives something for free....We often think they have something to gain.  Lack of trust is the reason.  Who would give for free what others would charge for?  Only those that love you would    God Bless

Hoot -
The answer eludes some ... but thank goodness that most of do know the answers.
Thanks, hon.

Denise -
Thank you my friend.
Sometimes it's difficult for hearts to accept that love can be so easy.

First_Knight -
Thank you.  Love is all about trusting and taking a chance that you just might be right.
