Moon Rising

I never saw it
quite that way before,
saffron cheeks just resting
for a moment on the hill,
an old Jack-O-Lantern
sagging into November,
dots of trees silhouetted
like a day's growth
on an upper lip.
It tickled me
to see such majesty
turned comic,
and I had to write this poem
for the smile in me.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

These images are awesome - images one wouldn't consider out of the ordinary such as upper lip hair, you have worked into an alluring poem. I'm impressed!

The moon is such a fickle thing
it brings us love and thoughts that sting
it captures moments in its light
and turns them into pure delight.
It can make us weep
it can make us sigh
but it made me smile
and this was why.
