"If you love me, you would"
What a useless expression;
Thrown around so freely
To get one's way,
Used on me for many a reason.
If you love me, you would
Sleep with me.
If you love me, you would
Fight for me.
If you love me, you would
Cry for me.
If you love me, you would
Want only me.
If you love me, you would
Stay loyal to me.
If you love me, you would
Choose only me as your friend.
How unfair that makes it all seem...
Yes, I love you.
So, I've slept with you.
I've fought for you.
I've cried over you.
I've wanted only you.
I've stayed loyal to you.
But now you've done it...
Don't ask me again
To keep only you as my friend.
Yes, she betrayed you
And yes, you're my best friend,
But she's my friend too.
Let's turn this around,
It's my turn:
"If you love me, you would
Quit trying to make me choose!"

If you love something, set it free, if it comes back to you, its meant to be...
