Santa’s Special Ride

Silent whispers, tinsel dreams
Santa rides the moonlight beams,
Touching finger to nose in delight,
Makes for magic in the night.

Oh Santa, I’m so very glad
You’re in my heart, just like my dad,
And you keep coming, while he’s gone,
You bring memories, and his song.

And Santa, just like my Mom
I’ve laid out cookies for you to munch on,
For she’d make them, just for you,
So I hope you like mine too.

Mom and Dad have been gone some time,
But in my heart, they made you mine,
And you come here, every year,
And wipe away my quiet tears.

They made you special and unique,
And even today, I still steal a peek,
But you don’t care, you’re in great form,
For in my husband, you’re the norm.

Indeed Sunshine, a mixture of sadness and joy. And a poem that reminds us all how special Christmas was, is and always shall be.
