~ ~ ~

She sleeps contentedly in God's hand

I'm left alone in a foreign land.

Ten years of love; we were so blessed;

But now she's gone, to wait and rest.

In a silken jewel-box lies a pearl;

My shining girl, my shining girl.

It is seldom that I am moved close to tears that I would publicly admit to  - but your six beautiful lines have bought tears to my eyes. Words fail me at this moment, but my heart goes out to you. As do my prayers for your little one.

Sometimes when the poem is deep I often miss the meaning
but I'm sure I understand this one
and the last two lines
so touching

In a silken jewel-box lies a pearl;
My shining girl, my shining girl
