A Gathering of Angels

Gathered they from all the world
With wings of heavenly grace unfurled
Come together Christmas Season
Reminding us the Christ Child's reason

Delicate figures in halo light
Celestial spirits of soul's delight
Willowy wings and seraph face
Suspended there in reverent grace

From all around the globe they came
To honor Christ and bless his name
And all who see transfixed in stare
At a hundred angels floating there

Their gentle grace and loving face
Command a presence in this place
So magnificent a sight to see
My lovely angel Christmas tree

My mother collects angels and her tree is always all angels that people have brought her from all over. Every year because she has so many angels, there are different ones on it and I love to look at each one and try to figure where it came from or who the giver was. Some are old, some are very new, but all precious to her in their own way

Elizabeth, my friend -
Your tree of angels must be
as delightful as this poem you wrote.
You positively ~glow~.

You write of angels
on the tree ...
I think of angels
and envision thee.

Wings of gossamer,
halo askew ...
I think I've seen
the likes of you.

Hustling and bustling,
not missing a trick ...
winking at the reindeer
that bring Old Saint Nick.

Merrily flitting
to and fro ...
kissing your love
under the mistletoe.

Angel with halo tarnished,
I'm sure you are a delight.
Merry Christmas, angel ...
and to you a very good night.

Love
~*Marge*~

Hoot, Beautiful isn't it? All those angels together.

Michael, If you lived a little closer, you could come see for yourself! Thanks for the kind comment.
Liz

Severn, dear, we'll think of something! Scholarship, maybe?

Denise, yes angels remind us of a lot of things, all lovely. I love angels!

Marge,
Halo tarnished just a bit
But I often polish it
Not as flitty as you think
Unless, of course I've had a drink
But that is very rare, you see
Cause it does not appeal to me
I'm quite reserved, and free of strife
I need you to liven up my life
A neon halo 'round her head
And wings of silk to knock you dead
Quite alluring, reassuring
Never, ever, ever boring
The forum she is always lighting
With down to earth colorful writing
You're such an angel!

I love to quip
with angels ...
the joy is never done.
My dear friend, Elizabeth ...
I'm sure that you are one.

For I've seen halos shining
in yours words so bright.
You'd just have to be angelic
to give your thoughts such flight.

Wouldn't it be such fun
to fly in on a whim ...
and be little trickster angels
spreading light from within.

An angel's smile
an angel's heart ...
that, my friend
is what you are.

Let's flit down
to the shopping mall
and get halos
for all.

I heard they got 'em
priced so small.
TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE
Let's get some for all !

Wouldn't that be fun?
What a sight to see ...
all of Passion's poets
flying round the tree !

*YOU ARE SOOOOOO MUCH FUN !
Love ~Marge~

Rod, Thank you kindly

Nan, you are an angel. I think I,ve got one on my tree that looks just like you

Marge, Leave it to Marge to want to buy a halo! Honey, that's something that's not for sale. Let's see, now how can we get you one?
Just kidding, THANKS! You're sweet!
Liz

Beautiful Elizabeth. . . surely you have learned the angel's song. . .

I know it isn't Christmas but when I read this poem I had to reply. Angels are some of my favorite things in the world!

Enjoyed this poem SweetPoetFriendElizabeth...

I particularly like2hunt down your holiday theme 'poetery jewels' and bring em back2the top bumpity bump...

I have always found much joy and comfort in the reading of them over the holiday season, and this treasure I find today hopefully others will take a peak and agree with me...
