The greatest gifts in life define
Devout parental care.
Souls woven of life's finest thread
Darn pride in fledglings' fare.

My quest that I might stand their stead;
Same tears shed twice before.
Mellitus lance bescourged this day
Sweet progeny once more.

What future's cast as shadows lay
Beneath their ventured stride?
Insidious this curse within,
Ensuing years decried.

E'er days of bliss or bleak chagrin
We each must heed His call
Our lives to live as His design
But must He have my all?

Nan,
Your poem flew o'er the mountain high,
I reached into the sky.
But it flew so high up in the sky,
It passed me with a fie.
I read it dear, I read it clear
So near it did appear.
But I could not clear the wordage dear
And for that I shed a tear.

Only fooling, this is a wonderful poem. *L* Sy

Well done Lady Nan... having two daughters who feel they can take on the world, I think I understand where you're coming from. At least I think I do

Sweetheart: Nope, he doesn't need to take it all from you but I guess I shall never understand in a million years why some seem to suffer more than most...maybe it's because he thinks you can deal with it, or maybe it's because he thinks you can teach about an ilness that can cause so much sorrow...I honestly don't know but I wish I did!

Big HUSG to you and the little one and of course your daughter, his mother..

Why do I feel so helpless, cause I'd have his injections and make him laugh, well, one look at my face..*g*

Sorry Nan, I waffle when I don't know what to say..

Yesterday is but today's memory and tomorrow is today's dream...

Thank you, my dear friends... Jake is only five years old.... Both of my girls have been dealing with diabetes for some years... I can only pray now that Cassandra and Garrett can elude it......

Nan, dear friend, this is poetry at its finest. I admire it very much....as well as you.

Rainbow....you're a waffle?

Well, He certainly gave us all, Nan.  I love this poem, sure flows beautifully.
As you know, I am a juvenile diabetic, also, I share your concerns with my children.

Nan, your verse comes straight from the heart - and touches mine. I hope it all works out, I really do.

Nan,
I didn't respond to this at first because I didn't understand exactly what you were saying until other replies have cleared it up. My prayers are with you all. May your heart be full, your road be smooth, and your table always bountiful, a Penna. Dutch saying I wish for you.
