I fear being alone at night
for the rest of my life.
I fear the unkown,
the known,
the unforgiven.
I fear the things I've missed,
The time passed,
The life lived.
I fear the future
the Life I haven't lived,
The things I may miss.
I fear the now,
The seconds that foreshadow
impending sorrow.
I fear the absence of now,
the eternity of it all,
the endless awakening that is the end.
I fear it all.
We have nothing to fear but fear itself,
but fear is everywhere.
It overcomes us,
It is the very essence of us.

You have perfectly expressed fear - I can identify with all you have written.  I sometimes hate the uncertainty of it all...but... fear makes us stronger and keeps us truly living.

Kevin, this is a great poem, expressing what most of us have dealt with. But fear doesn't have to be our essence. I doesn't have to overtake us. That's where faith in His love and protection and providence can help us! There's nothing better than knowing that everything that touches us is under His control and no matter what happens to us He will work it out for our good! Isn't that great?! Again, great poem!

Kevin,
The poem is well done and you must write another on how to use fear.

Kevin -
You astound me with your perceptive depth.
A very well written poem on your thoughts.

Anxiety is the fear associated with stepping into something we've not yet experienced.
(and everyday I am anxious)

Fear is having stepped there and found the experience frightening.
(and from this I step away)

Curiosity makes us go forward anyhow ...
(ahhh, the perfect passion to explore)

Joy is the result of having conquered anxiety, fear and curiosity.
(and everyday I find joy)
