MARGE

She flips a quip like lightening's whip
With glittering grit and quickening flit
With fluttering wings that flip and flap
She dappily, happily claps a rap

She slyly slithers like slippery sloth
And pokes at the tumbling, fumbling moth
She blippily, flippily wields a pen
As around and about her verses wend

With feathery, heathery wings unfurled
She exposes her love life to the world
So honestly open and truthfully true
She delightfully brightens the darkest hue

With eagle eyes she flies the skies
And harks the marks of lark's demise
Then swiftly she swishily swoops on down
To soothe with smooth of eider down

She opens her willowy wings of dove
And covers with smothering, motherly love
Then cooingly, wooingly coos a song
And chimes a rhyme to coo along

Her heart's a well of angel light
That brightens the bright of whitest white
She wistfully whispers the winds to me
This wonderful wonder Cherokee

Your poetry brightens my day!

Elizabeth

Wonderful tribute, Elizabeth, but......er, I've never seen a slippery sloth slither. Of course, I've led a very sheltered life. Maybe that's why.

To the world you might be just one person but to one person you might just be the world.

Thank you all, but Mr.Balladeer, you should know better than anyone that anything can happen in a poem, and I'm telling you, that sloth was slippery!

Elizabeth, my dear friend ...

You KNOW I love it.
The tears well and overflow.
Sometimes I get so busy giving out love
that I forget to acknowledge how much I receive.

My heart overflows with warm and loving
friends who give me the store of love that keeps me constantly searching for someone to give it to.

I tell God everyday just how much love He has given me to carry in my heart ... He laughs and says, 'Need some more?'

The mere fact that you all have made me feel like a precious part of this family is almost enough to start the tears again.
What do I mean ALMOST ... I'm boo-hooing.
Sheer tears of joy and thankfulness for your friendship.

Maybe I'll find time to be funny in a little while, my friend.  But for now ... I'm going to just enjoy this tender rendering from you and treat myself to a 'friendship shower'.

God bless and keep you, Elizabeth Santos.
You are the fabric of friendship.
May the warm winds of this Cherokee heart
brush your cheek with the spirit of love
sent your way.
~Marge~

Marge,

If this had been in Denise's hand, you would never emerge from the well of joyful tears, so eloquent a sonnet she would write. But any one of us could have written this verse, for you are such a joy to wake up to and come home to at night. Your poetry is YOU and that's what we love about it. Now dry those tears and get out that flippily wielded pen of yours!
Love ya
Liz

Bippity Boppity Boo
a poem back to you.
No More Tears ...
and it's not just my shampoo!

Flip for flip
you'll follow.
Quip by quip
you'll holler.

To the flame
is drawn the moth,
to the tree
the two-toed sloth.

The slippery sloth
did slither up a tree.
I swear, Balladeer, it's true ...
don't believe it?
Just ask me !

I'm back in style
with no tears ...
I give you this salute
Elizabeth dear !

I hope I did it justice
for this time of night.
Here you've got me quipping ..
and the clock rings at daylight !

So between flirting with Balladeer
and trying to keep you smiling ...
I find the time has ticked away
and this poetry is so beguiling !

If you read this in the morning sun,
I hope you find a smile.
Elizabeth, my friend ...
friends like you
make it all worthwhile !

Marge,
There's nothing like a slithering sloth
To savor with your morning broth
I found your quips, I just awoke
And daybreak hasn't even broke
And I won't sleep the rest the night
For grandchid today will see he light
But Margie dear, have no fear
My quippin tongue will be in gear
But my mind today's in another realm
So I'll let Balladeer man the helm
So keep Balladeer
In his place
May the gentle winds
Touch your face
Liz

A wonderful tribute to a Lady of first caliber!
"Her heart's a well of angel light"...so beautiful...so true!

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!
