Today I feel you calling,
even stronger than before
I cannot turn off the switch
and put you safely away
like I used to at the close of day.
You have found your way
into my heart.
You keep me company
as I drive home
you climb under the covers with me
as I prepare for bed
and in the morning I wish your
toothbrush stood in the cabinet
right beside mine.
The small comforts I had
learned to live with
aren't enough any more,
now that I tasted your sweetness
I want more.

Today I feel you calling…
even stronger than before

Listen to the call. . .
For it may not come again. . .
The saddest words of all. . .
Are, "It might have been. . ."

Answer the call my friend. . . I know that you're scared, but you must. . .

 That which gives light must endure burning

SOMETIMES when we hear voices, we should LISTEN! *G* Seriously, great poem... but happily ever after isn't gonna search you out... and if it's worth having, it's worth taking risks for. *S* You know where to find your cheerleading section! LOL

Humph!!! Some friends you two are!!! Okay, I look ridiculous in this outfit and these legs are enough to gag a maggot and I can't do cartwheels for the very life of me! *G* Cheerleaders yell encouragement, right??? LOL. Well, I'm a "behind the scenes, fully clothed, no cartwheels required" cheerleader! So there!

Lovey, I don't know anyone who can match you when you put your feelings into a poem. This is so beautiful....and so sad...and so real. Thank you for sharing it.

I've felt this before and you've described it so well.  As the others have said, GO FOR IT!  It may be scary, but how will you feel if you never try?  Better to say you did all you could than to sit back and wonder "what if?"

 It matters not how strait the gate;
How charged with punishments the scroll;
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

iloveit,    I have to admit I Love this poem.  "Today I feel you calling" is a wonderful title.   I especially liked the line "Now that I tasted your sweetness I want more."   James
