I could have been there by now

If I hadn't put on my blinker
instead of following the taillights ahead of me
and I hadn't turned by habit
to the call of my real world with
little ones to hug, dogs to feed and supper to cook,
another day to wake up and bills to pay,
I could have driven straight to you
and been wrapped up in your arms
and your kisses
your heart would be next to mine
our breaths as one.
if only I had stayed on the interstate...
I could have been there by now

Thank you for this. It is an eye opener, to be sure.  Sometimes we really DO need to listen to our inner self a bit more.  Nice work.

How wonderful life could be if we just followed our instincts and went for the gold..but, unfortunately, when there are obligations to be met and others to be considered, one cannot just turn one's back and ignore the consequences of the action. You did put on your blinker and that makes you much more admirable.

Now, if the day ever comes that the blinker burns out and you can't put it on, well then, it must be an act of God!!!!

To the world you might be just one person but to one person you might just be the world.

iloveit...
Beautiful, and I know where you are.
Just want to echo Balladeer words. I'm still waiting for that blinker to burn out myself, and when it does I know it will be right.
