This is for Severn in response to her beautiful letter to me. Otherwise, I wouldn't be posting

The Family Tree

Our family is like the branches of a lovely Sycamore tree
We have grown in all directions, but we're of the common seed
We were nourished by the common rains and by the common earth
And our heritage then, to all of us, is of equal worth

Every branch is of a varied form, as well as every leaf
But the inner structure is the same of conscience and belief
We're all grown out of just one trunk and of the common place
And the beauty and strength of character shows upon each face

The taller that the Sycamore grows, the greater it's enhanced
More numerous the leaves, the more the breeze will make it dance
One leaf will shade the other, and together we will stand
And the common roots will always feed the spirit of each man

Oh Liz - I am so glad!

I'm here for a very short time, this will be my last reply for a few hours and I am so happy that I found this - I have been worrying all day!

Thankyou for the dedication for this wonderfully wise poem, my friend.
It means a lot to me - and I am overjoyed that you are still here. I really am.

Many hugs. K
