Don’t Cry for me

Don’t cry for me
when I am gone, and this life
progresses to the next...
Remember me with smiles
and pleasant thoughts.

Don’t throw dirt on my grave,
as my body lies cold and still
and my soul soars...
Bury hatred and cruelty
and let the anger go, not me.

Do not cut flowers
to lay on my casket or on my grave
they will only fade and rot with time...
Plant seeds of happiness instead
and let them grow.

Don’t shout at the skies,
as they pour forth in rain,
for when the storm ends...
The sun will once more shine
and things will seem brighter.

Don’t cry for me
when I am gone,
for in you; I will always live.

"When you come to the edge of the light which is all you know. And are about to step off into the darkness that is unknown...Faith is knowing one of two things will happen...there will be something to stand on...or you will learn how to fly." -Unknown

Dear God...please give me wings!

How bittersweet.

I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me."

This is beautiful, Hoot!!! And the poet is too! *G*

Now if only those smiles for me won't be of the "thank goodness she's gone and no longer an aggravation!" variety! LOL

Ruth - this almost akin to Balladeer's 'When I am gone'. I think this is beautiful, my dear.

This is beautiful Ruth.  Reminiscent of Shakespeare:

"No longer mourn for me when I am dead ...
Nay if you read this line, remember not
The hand that writ it, for I love you so
That I in your sweet thoughts would be forgot ..."

Very beautiful.

Hoot -
This is stirring and beautiful.
Accentuation with the artwork is captivating.
