Gizmo's, Gadgets And Love
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

With a buzz
and a blip
and a spin
and a whirl.
I'm crazy about you.
Wanna be your girl !

Pull the string
watch me spin ...
in and out
of love again.

With a whir
and a wheeee!
and a whistling sound ...
Your love is the greatest
to be found !

Spin me around
one more time.
This love is making me
dizzy with rhyme !

I'll spin you like a top
And you'll whirl till you drop.
I'll spin you round the floor
All night long...maybe more
And, as I watch you twirl,
I'll be glad you're my girl.

Oh, the hours I will spend
Watching your colors blend
Spinning at reckless pace
Yet, maintaining your grace,
Hear the wonderful sound
Of your spinning around.

Then, when you are all done
We can still have some fun
That's when it will be my
Turn to spin, twirl and fly
And, girl, you ain't seen nuttin'
Till you've pressed my button!

To the world you might be just one person but to one person you might just be the world.

Balladeer -

As best I can recall
I think that what you said
was PURPLE, BLACK AND BLUE
and maybe a little RED !

Guess I'll keep
my cotton-picking hands
off of your button ...
sure wouldn't want 'sweetie'
to think that I was flirting !

Careful what you say.
Careful what you do.
You've just 'pushed my buttons'
and now what will you do?

Here it is 12:30
and you're talking tough.
Careful, Balladeer ...
I just might call your bluff !

Bravo, m'dear! You said it well.
A message loud and clear.
That figure running down the road
Is bluffing Balladeer.

From my good friend, the Hindenburg,
In school somewhere I learned
That things filled up with hot air
Are doomed to crash and burn!!!

To the world you might be just one person but to one person you might just be the world.

It's really a good thing
that Ron of the poet's round,
didn't include in this new design
the gadget of sound.

For you would hear me laughing,
my sides about to pop ...
the very thought of Balladeer
putting on the stop.

If the day ever comes
when 'things' change,
perhaps your buttons
I'll help rearrange.

But for now ...
listen with glee.
Hee Hee
Hee Hee
Hee Hee !

And if 'sweetie'
gets a little fussy,
tell her I threw myself at you ...
by being a litle hussey!

You are great fun, my friend.
Don't stop being who you are !

I think I like watching the exchanges between you and Balladeer as much as your poems Marge.       This one brought thoughts of happy childhood toys at Christmas to mind<-!signature-->

Thank you Knight.
That Balladeer is a fun friend to have.
We banty back and forth with laughter.
Glad you enjoy the rapid-fire exchanges.

My twirling, swirling, whirling friend
With your flitly, fleetly, flighty pen
Writes a dizzying, whizzying whirl of a rhyme
That blippily flits and whippily chimes

Enjoyed both of you!
Your poetically emotional friend,
Liz
