I woke today with a scowl,
the smell of coffee brewing
did not bring the usual smile.
I stumbled into the dog and
didn't apologize,
I showered and dressed,
careful not to make eye contact,
lest the sadness I would see
should make me cry.
I wondered the source of this discontent,
and thought the day must be cloudy,
a storm brewing outside,
but when I finally remembered to check
and the sky was bluer than blue,
I knew this scowl was only
cause of how much
I miss you.

Glad to know I'm not the only grump... and coffee flavored with tears is the pits! LOL. That missing stuff is devastating, isn't it?

Nice one, Lovey!

All this time I thought you were the most perfect person in the world but.....you stumbled into the dog and didn't apologize? Jeez! I may have to revise my thinking...ok I did....you're still perfect.

I know what you mean about the missing part. It just seems to give an overall feeling of frustration and discontent without pointing at any one thing specifically. You described it very well. (but, next time, please apologize to the dog, ok?)

Hey!! This was MY morning! LOL...except I haven't got a dog to stumble over

(Don't worry Bal~I'd apologize to it if I did!  )

I can relate! Well done!
