Night of Thunder

On a night of restless slumber
Pouring rain and breaking thunder
I began to turn and wonder
If you'd ever come to me

What is in tomorrow looming
Love's desire to be dooming
Why does my heart keep assuming
You will not come back to me

There you are a prince of passion
Living freely in your fashion
Will the hour allow you ration
Just a moment, just for me

Oh, night of endless storm and lightening!
Visions seem too bleak and frightening
Pray that you will do the right thing
And come sailing home to me

Love's own bliss is too enthralling
Tears of hope and pain are falling
Can't you hear my passion calling
From across the endless sea

How long ago that night of thunder
Youthful heart in thralls of wonder
Now in shadows dark and somber
Visions of your face I see

All is well and all forgiven
But the haunting lover's vision
Through the years has always driven
Thoughts of you across the sea

My heart must wait another hour
Another lifetime love to flower
May God give me the heavenly power
To draw your spirit close to me

Elizabeth, my friend -
First it made me think to check the weather.
Then I quickly surmised that the raging storm was taking place in the poet's heart.

You have a wonderful day.

Have a great day and thanks!

It's pouring here in Pennsylvania, perhaps that's what inspired this poem. But then again, it's hard to conjure up something that you're not relly feeling
Thank you so much

Kamla,
GET TO BED!
This will still be here tomorrow.
Sweet dreams
Elizabeth

Beautiful Elizabeth. . . simply beautiful!

I was reminded of Poe's "The Raven" as I read it. . .

Wonderful. . .

Yes, it sure is raining in Pennsylvania! But they say it should clear up tonight and then tomorrow - Sunshine! Can't wait! Beautiful poem, Elizabeth! You certainly have a talent for expressing so beautifully what is within you! I enjoy everything of yours that I have read and this is no exception!

Elizabeth,
This poem is exquisite.
It makes my thoughts to inter mingle
With your words that seem to tingle.
Walks upon my tender spine,
With every word and every line.
