One month is left this year,
Then thousand years to sum.
The termination's near
For this millennium.

Two thousand next we'll see.
Let's mend our misdeeds done.
December's now the key;
We're left with only one.

Dare not to live askance -
Redemption at what cost?
We have but one more chance.
Let's pray that all's not lost!

It's sad we have need to write like this isn't it Nan?
Well written though, and lets hope all isn't lost.

I believe in fate. If something is meant to happen it will. And people/things are meant to come into our lives for a reason. Whatever the millenium brings, it will be for a reason..we may not see it right away, but it's there....

Oh my...(no, not your Ohmy, Ohme) but mine...

Hmmmm, you know I think criticism is great but only when the critic actually has something constructive to say and I can't for the life of me find anything constructive in your post NIL8, so I guess you must just be wanting attention, has to be the only reason...*sigh* and I've given it to you, aren't I the generous one..wish I could have ignored your post but I gave in..

Nan: What is it that you think we will lose?..History and it's protocol? Or the chance to make up for things either said or left unsaid? ..Or the way we will be writing 19**, for months to come.. Either way, I hope for you 2000 will be everything you wish for and far more besides..

Nan... This is beautifuly written. I also wonder about the year to come. Somehow I think it will hold new and better things for all of us who care to find them. I just pray that I am one of those who has the courage to look for those new things.

To watch a remake of an old Christmas story, it always amazes me that I take old lines and get something new out of them each time.

For example, in one famous Christmas story, there is a line about "there are 1000 moments in every day for you to make a difference" or words to that effect. [Too lazy to reference the book just now...]

So although we have less than a month before what some consider to be the end of the century, and the millenium [I'm with the other 50%, I think we'll see that 12/31/00 actually ends the millenium] let it be remembered that we each have the capacity to make a change, especially the good poets that visit this site.

So, action and deed on!

Thanks everyone for reading and caring - I actually wrote this one on New Year's of last year - and thought I'd take a nip and tuck to revise it for one last go-'round...... Happy Days do lie ahead - For sure...

Every December finds me looking back on the year that's ending... wondering where my bright hopes got so bruised and battered and tarnished... and polishing them up for another round. (You'd think I'd learn? LOL)

Enjoyed the poem, Nan... I hope the new year brings everyone here loads of happiness!
