Little bird
with strength of eagle wings
who flights in sky longing
another’s vibrant height

fly you far
not soaring yet

Quiet one
of deeply clovered woods
who skirts the edge of night
collecting dew on feather

peace you float
to wounded ones

Listening owl
with whom the ocean sings
who calls the sigh of waves
through voice of foaming shores

pain you hear
in silence wept

Poet child
of soul-chimed wings
who lifts all broken birds
caught in mired lands

hope you grace
to fallen stars

Little bird
with songs of trial born
who of overcoming sings
rise always in those skies

for I
in you believe
