Tender Vows
by © Richard J. Budig 1997

Sunday sun storms the sill,
Creeps across the floor,
And climbs the side of our bed.
Its heat awakens me
And as I turn over
She drapes a leg across my hip.
In moments, we’re making love,
Sunday-morning style
-- Quiet, gentle, unhurried --
Soft murmurs and shared meows,
A celebration of tender vows.
