Dramatic sunsets framed within the sky
a ball of orange that almost blinds the eye
darkened trees are shadows as nature falls asleep
farmer's last check on cows that cuddle with the sheep

Yesterday the hills were coloured violet
laid before me like a cozy winter's banquette
clouds swirl in fantastic formations like dancers in a show
golden bubbles lit up from the dazzling horizon below

As the sun's arc grows smaller it seems the world shrinks in size
watching from my window I could never fully capture this prize
the spirit of quietness now rests upon the dusk of nature at curfew
I wish I could paint this picture so that I could share with you

Yesterday is but today's memory and tomorrow is today's dream...

I'm off to walk the trail as I hear the dawn chorus sing
as dawn gives light upon my trail so I shall think of you
as herons wake and owls cry and blackbirds sing to me
I'll take the whole view in as squirrels jump tree to tree..

Good morning all.. or goodnight..

Rg - beautiful, beautiful.
And I have to further: you did paint the picture. Words are often better than a picture, for a painting is so final. That's the beauty of our art - we leave the doors open for the reader to add to the initial painting.

I don't know which I like better - a sunrise or a sunset... Sometimes I have trouble making decisions like that - You're making a pretty good argument for sunsets here - Nice job, RG...

Really vivid, RainbowGirl.
Hope the sunrise greets you with great surprise.

Queen

I'm sort of heading your way tomorrow - Nuremburg via Frankfurt - alas, too far from you to give you back your Hugs - I'll ask the pilot to dip a wing in your honor, Your Ladyship.

I loved the poem
