The Golden Poet

He lays before him empty page
And golden pen, its nemesis
And looks within the depth of soul
And thus, the golden genesis

Beginnings of a lovely verse
With spirit's pour and poet's think
Then he at last with pen in hand
Scrolls the page with golden ink

He wields the pen as sword of steel
Swift and sure in verse divine
And pulls the words from mother lode
The deepest canyon of his mind

With gentle hand he softly lays
Powdered phrase upon the page
And writes a verse so beauteous
To last the world from age to age

Sorry, Miss Severn
These names are a mess
Can't tell one from the other
Or sister from brother
I'll unravel the mess
Change poet to poetess
Take out the he
And put in a she

All this time I thought you were a guy!
Better start checking people's resumes
Your female friend,
Elizabeth

Elizabeth,
A golden poet is quite rare
Himself he never thinks as heir.
He searches for that golden verse,
With words within his common purse.

Powdered phrase upon the page--oh my, I do love that line. My name may be Martie but I'm a girl Martie, not a guy Marty.

Sy,
A golden poet, exquisite verse
Loveliest verses that I know
The only defect in his brilliant mind
Is that he doesn't believe my UFOs
Elizabeth

Martie,
I knew that from your poetry
Thank you for your lovely comment

I'd settle for Silver
or even Bronze ...
if this praise
could go on and on.

I wanna GO FOR THE GOLD !
No holding back !
Being a HE
is all I lack.

Powdered stuff
upon my face ... so bold,
Do you think I qualify
for GOLD ?

(Careful with your answer)
Elizabeth - Thanks for calling today.
I enjoyed our talk very much. ~Marge~

Robert,
So glad you enjoyed it and thank you, kind poet
Elizabeth

Marge,
Medals come in varied sorts
Some with ribbons of red and blue
Some in gold and silver and bronze
And then there's tin and aluminum, too
And then there's Cracker Jacks rewards
And then there's happy meals, I think
That have a lovely little prize
Would you settle for a "shrinky dink'?

Sorry, Marge, couldn't resist
You were begging for it
Your friend, I think

Marge,
The truth is that I must confess
You are the golden poetess
Not only the beauty of your lines
But the beauty of the subjects you define
The beauty of the love you send afar
And the beauty of the person that you are

You are the GOLDEN GIRL
The golden nugget of the passionate forum
Love ya
Elizabeth

What is a roflmao?
I don't get it
But I have a hard time decifering things
I think my gender error is going to expose a lot of surprises in the forum, cause of these darn poet names. My name is Elizabeth and so I call myself Elizabeth. It's simple
self explanatory, easy to remember, forthright, and .... I happen to like my name. What else would I call myself
cooingdove
instantpoet
dontlookatme
idontgetit

I think I'll stick with Liz
But I do apologize for the error
So what is roflmao?

Liz

L'Oreal Gold,
I choose to be.
That's the very
shade for me.

If you thought
I took you seriously ...
Well, Silence can be GOLDEN ...
don't you see?

My server was playing
tricks on me,
or I'd have gotten
back to thee.

Quick I am
and you know it ...
Okay, Lizzie
don't you blow it !

I could just
go on and on ....
come to think of it ....
I HAVE, HAVEN'T I ?

Thank you for
the glowing remarks ...
I'm so bright ...
I glow in the dark !

Sometimes I wish I could be a male...yeah right!
Hope that cleared the issue up nicely!
