And the Water Flows

At first I thought the world would end,
because you were no longer in my life.
I no longer had the thought, that you
were still somewhere on this earth.

But now,

I realize that even though you're gone
the water continues to flow on and on.
Through the valley and beyond the hills,
I chased its path forever, in search of you.

And then,

I came to a point where the fields were endless,
and my screams were silent.
A place where my tears no longer fell,
and my pain had extinguished its self.

I saw,

Only endless sky painted by God's hands,
and with the angels help I saw your face.
You were smiling down on me from a far
letting me know you were there for me.

I heard,

The sparrow telling me you were cared for
up in Heaven despite your time on earth.
That your heart would always be with me,
the family, and all that you left behind.

I thought,

About how many hours I had spent crying.
The days I wondered if you even cared.
But I'm sure you were thinking the same.
That I didn't care. Well, I did and still do.

I sat down,

Underneath the mamosa tree at the hill top
and stared out into the metallic horizon.
My thoughts were all about you and how I
felt so guilty about not always being there.

I found,

A beautiful wild rose, growing all alone.
It was yellow and in full bloom, containing
No brown spots among it's silken petals.
Frost had not attacked it at this point.

I knew,

That I needed to leave it there in the field
so it could live and die with natures hand.
That's all a part of life, and I realized that picking it
would only make it suffer.

Then,

I realized it was your time to go and end all the
pain and suffering that you had.
We held on too long when you were
wanting to go, so your pain would stop.

But now,

I realize that even though you're gone
the water continues to flow on and on.
Through the valley and beyond the hills,
I'll still chase its path forever, in search of you.

Thanks Denise. I spent my time relaxing well, but I just started getting "home-sick". (This home I mean) I missed everyone dearly.
